Advisor Group Rolls Out Mentorship Platform

By Alex Padalka October 30, 2020

Advisor Group says it has launched a new networking platform aimed at connecting experienced financial professionals with the next generation entering the industry.

My Mentor Connect, as the new platform is called, is designed to help early-career professionals find their ideal mentors as well as build mentoring relationships, according to Advisor Group. Users can create profiles covering their location, the characteristics of their business and the areas in which they would like guidance and then use the platform’s search and filter functions to find potential matches among participating mentors, Advisor Group says.

While the mentor and mentee can decide whether to have a one-time interaction or establish an ongoing relationship, the platform offers various resources on making the relationship work, according to Advisor Group. This includes tools laying out guidelines and responsibilities; guides on how to set goals; suggestions of helpful books, articles and online resources; and best practices for fruitful meetings, Advisor Group says.

“The platform can be used by early-career professionals to find guidance and insight in specific practice areas that will bolster their growth, as well as by more experienced financial professionals who are looking to give back and learn more about rising generations of investors, or even to identify potential succession planning partners,” the company says.
